I live in the Hudson Valley in NY and we have some serious lead contamination. We are avid veggie gardeners and do not want to let the result ruin our hopes for a massive garden. We have put compost from our town on our garden but I've read that the compost could also be contaminated. We plan to put lime down this fall...a higher pH is supposed to limit lead availability in the soil. I have also been considering buying organic top soil. Is organic top soil guaranteed to be lead-free? Thanks!

microorganism grows up in the soil.
