Unlike people in fancy garden magazines, most of us don't rip out everything and start from scratch, so we're always left with a few features we'd rather not have but which serve the purpose. And actually, I think your ivy-covered arch is quite pretty. Neat trimming does wonders, doesn't it? Your garden looks lovely.
