Hi there.

We (like most of us) have never met, but here I am on your site via the lovely Stuart from Gardening tips'nideas. I love making my video podcasts, even though they are a lot of work. I have a such a great crew that it makes it easy to film. I hardly have to look for content, just start filming what ever we happen to be doing that day. You mentioned that you would like to do a video. Let me know. Nice to view your site. After I finish this editing session I am going to sit down to a cup of ice tea and read some more.

Take care.
Beth Lawrence.

Bummer. I've looked again and I still can't find either About or About the Site, but maybe I'm just having an e-challenged moment.

I echo Tracy and add that Marc from Veggie Garden Info is in Kentucky. He also runs his own Garden Desk blog about his own garden. It's there where you can find he's in Kentucky. Where are you?--just kidding.

Susan: Just to let you know . . . . You wonder where Kenny from Veggie Gardening Tips and Marc at Veggie Garden Info are located. Kenny's "About the Gardener" link shows that he's in Central Pennsylvania. Veggie Garden Info's "About This Site" link says that it's essentially a re-blog site - posts from various other blogs around the world. (However, it's not particularly clear from the description. With apologies to Marc and Anthony, who are doing a great job, this could be written more clearly.) Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that they're not hiding their geographical location - it's there.

Great post as always Susan. You've really delved into some of the issues.

To give some clarification to what I've been discussing;

- The Pay Per Post feature is best understood by going to their site. But, in a nutshell, bloggers are paid for writing reviews on products and services by advertisers. The blogger writes the post and includes a link or two to the advertiser and then they themselves receive a commission for doing this. Which is all fine if you write on topics that are related to your blog. Otherwise they just look spammy and soon you lose your readership. BTW - Google is cracking down on these links and can penalise a blogger for adding them to their posts.

- Regarding Doug Welch's subscriber numbers: people can subscribe to your feed and then read it in their aggegator (Bloglines, Google Reader etc) without ever visiting the blog (ok, you have to at least visit it to subscribe - but that's only once). Most of the blogs I read are done this way. Therefore, very few people visit Doug's blog but 1500+ people read it.

- "(The cleverest April Fool joke I've seen in decades.)" - now there's a claim!!! I had so much fun making that one that it amuses me that you found it equally as funny. April 1, 2008 is going to be a tough call.

Thanks for your lovely comments and I trust the '$$$ Anyone' starts to happen for you. C'mon people...she's not at the top of this list for no reason.
