For Bloom Day, Massing by Bloom Time

Continuing the gardenblogger tradition of showing off our blooms on the 15th of the month, I present one of my favorite scenes in the garden: lacecap hydrangeas, astilbes and (in the upper right) an ‘Anthony Waterer’ spirea.  For a longer view, click on over to GardenRant.

My favorite color combination! That’s so lovely.

I use the shorter, spirea ‘Neon Flash’ for the color. I have three massed together and surrounded by monarda, echinacea and salvia with the same bloom color in full sun in my deer resistant garden.

That is a gorgeous combination for June. I have hydrangea envy now. Lovely, thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful combination, Susan! And in my favorite garden colors as well. I enjoyed meeting you at Spring Fling; I love the way you’ve planted the alliums in your other photo–I have a feeling we’re going to be seeing lots of them in all the Spring Flingers’ gardens next season:)
