I am the father of the friend in M A's comment. We are pleased that the Inn is supporting the Green concepts. As your pictures reveal, this is an inner city location (in our nation's capital) and the Inn demonstrates there are ways heavy brick and mortar locations can create a difference.

I love the Tabard Inn! A dear friend of mine had her wedding reception there. Food was great, setting was awesome. Do they still have cool statues and art on the patio? Thanks for the update.

[...] Just read a really neat article about a green roof that was planted with edibles for Tabard’s Inn in Washington. Find the article here:Â <!– /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:”"; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:”Times New Roman”; mso-fareast-font-family:”Times New Roman”;} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {color:blue; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {color:purple; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} –> http://www.sustainablegardeningblog.com/archives/1654 [...]

I really enjoyed this read. I'll keep this in mind as I'm a handyman whom works out of the norm and service Chapel Hill, NC which might go for this kind of project.
