Many thanks to Ken Druse and Vicki Johnson for inviting me to chat with them in today’s episode of Real Dirt Radio. They said lots of nice things!
Of particular interest here is our discussion of sustainable gardening – what does it mean? All agreed that it’s a holistic approach, and Ken added an important point – that it’s a realistic, factoring in real-world limitations like labor and cost. I chimed in about all the interest now in lawn replacement – but with what? Compared to the cost of grass seed, masses of perennials are expensive!

I asked for Ken’s latest book, Planthropology, for Christmas. I saw it wrapped under the tree. When my husband left for the day, I carefully removed the tape, unwrapped it, and began reading – he-he, loving it so far. Great information, can’t wait until I can read it in the open.
I just listened to your interview Susan. Enjoyed it!

Susan: Just catching up on Ken’s radio show and blogs and there you are! Nice to hear you in person. Great topics covered. I love your approach to lawn care. Congrats!
Hi Susan,
Ms. Creasly provided your name when I asked how I could find a person in the DC-MD area who could set up some herb flower containers and show me how to maintain them on a regular basis throughout the year. I don’t have a green thumb so we would have to start as session 101. What are the fees for this type of service?
Thanks.
