“Garden Voices” – Loud and Clear

Noto3_1Kudos and thanks for everyone involved, beginning with Amy Stewart, who sent me the link.  Next, to Garden Web for having the good sense to include on their site a "best-of-gardening-blogs" feature called Garden Voices.  And most especially I say three cheers to Old Roses, the "editor" of Garden Voices.  She’s doing a fabulous job of reviewing daily posts to English language gardening blogs worldwide and highlighting the ones that catch her eye for busy readers. I think it’s safe to predict that garden blogging will grow exponentially in 2006, thanks in large part to Garden Voices.  And be on the look-out for Amy’s piece on blogging in Gardening How-To Magazine sometime soon.  So I’m excited about all the new gardening "voices" we’ll be seeing on line any day now.

Just one question.  Old Roses, is there a way we can email you directly?  I want to pick your brain.

I LOVE Garden Web! Ever since I typed my first “When do I prune my…?” into Google and the first site to pop up was Garden Web. It has been consistently there for me every time I want to investigate a new plant to see if it will work in my zone or how I can better maintain what I have. Always helpful too when I want to see if my unusually slow to bud or bloom plant is on the same timetable as others in my area or there is somethign wrong. Yay for Garden Web and Garden Voices!

Yeah, I’m really glad to see somebody doing a kind of comprehensive round-up like this. It’s a good way to get to know who’s out there. I could do without the ads that float across the screen, but I guess it’s a necessary evil.
