On top of the heat there is a nasty hot northerly (yes, that's reversed too), which dries everything out. On such days one is either happy to be at work in air conditioned comfort, or if you have the day off like I do today, all shades and blinds are drawn, and I'm not going outside until that promised cool change comes.
